FlyNest Privacy Policy
Effective October 6, 2026
FlyNest is an iPhone app that helps people with a fear of flying, from booking to landing. It is published by Le Super Cent (“we”), the controller of the data described here. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, who receives it, and how you can control or delete it. Questions: cyndie@lesupercent.com.
The short version
- No account, no name, no e-mail address: the app identifies you with a random code it generates.
- Your flights, checklists, AI Captain conversations, location, barometer readings and the symptoms you describe stay on your phone.
- Your onboarding answers and how you use the app are sent to our analytics provider to improve FlyNest. You can turn this off in Settings.
- If you allow tracking when iOS asks, we measure which ads brought you to the app (Meta, TikTok). We never sell your data and never show ads inside the app.
- “Delete my account” in Settings erases everything on your phone and asks our analytics provider to delete your data.
1. Data that stays on your phone
- Flights and checklists you add, your mood after a flight, liked content.
- AI Captain conversations. Answers are generated on your iPhone by Apple Intelligence; your messages are not sent to us or to any AI provider.
- Location. Used only to show where you are on the map, at the airport and during the flight. It is never sent to us or to third parties. In flight, location keeps running in the background so the Live Activity stays up to date; you can turn location off at any time.
- Your anxiety triggers and physical symptoms from the onboarding questions: used on your phone to build your flight profile, never sent to us or anyone else.
- Barometer (Motion & Fitness). Cabin pressure changes help detect takeoff. Readings never leave your phone.
To show maps, the app downloads map tiles from our map server (tiles.deletefearofflying.com, hosted by Cloudflare). Like any web request, this exposes your IP address and the map area requested; we use it only to deliver tiles and limit abuse, and keep no profile of it. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.
2. Data we collect
| Data | Why | Shared with |
|---|---|---|
| Random app identifier, created by the app and stored in your iPhone's Keychain | Recognise the same installation across our services, without knowing who you are | Mixpanel, RevenueCat, Superwall, AppsFlyer |
| Onboarding answers: fear level, age range, gender, when anxiety starts, past attempts, goals, your resulting flight profile, and your next flight (date, departure and destination cities). Not your triggers or symptoms | Understand who FlyNest helps and improve the program | Mixpanel (all answers); Superwall (fear level, your flight profile and next flight only, to show the right subscription screen) |
| Usage events: screens viewed, flights started and completed, meditations and breathing sessions, articles opened, AI Captain messages sent (count only, never their content) | Product analytics | Mixpanel |
| Subscription and purchase history | Unlock the app, manage your subscription, measure revenue | Apple, RevenueCat, Superwall, AppsFlyer (via RevenueCat) |
| Device and technical data: device model, iOS version, app version, language, IP address, crash data | Run the services, fix bugs, prevent fraud | The providers above, as part of their service |
| Advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking | Measure which ad campaigns bring new users | AppsFlyer, RevenueCat, then Meta and TikTok in aggregated or attributed form |
3. Advertising measurement
FlyNest advertises on Meta (Facebook, Instagram) and TikTok. To know whether an ad worked, we use AppsFlyer. It records the app install and your sessions, and receives your subscription events (trial started, purchase, renewal, cancellation, refund) from RevenueCat. AppsFlyer then tells Meta and TikTok which of their ads led to an install or a subscription. Your onboarding answers and usage details are never sent to AppsFlyer, Meta or TikTok.
Early in the app, iOS asks whether FlyNest may track you. If you allow it, your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) is used to match an install to an ad. If you don't, the IDFA is never accessed and attribution relies on Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork, which reports to advertisers in aggregate. Everything in the app works the same either way. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
4. Who processes your data
- Apple — App Store payments and subscriptions, Apple Intelligence (on device).
- RevenueCat (USA) — subscription management.
- Superwall (USA) — subscription screens.
- Mixpanel (USA) — product analytics.
- AppsFlyer (Israel / USA) — advertising measurement.
- Meta Platforms and TikTok — advertising, receiving attribution results only.
- Cloudflare (USA) — map tiles and this website.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. Some are located outside the European Union; transfers rely on the European Commission's adequacy decisions (including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified) or Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not sell your personal data.
5. Legal bases (EU / UK users)
- Contract: providing the app and your subscription.
- Consent: advertising tracking (the iOS prompt), and the onboarding answers you choose to give.
- Legitimate interest: product analytics and security, with an opt-out in Settings.
6. Your choices and rights
- Stop analytics and ad measurement: FlyNest › You › Settings › turn off “Share anonymous usage data”. Mixpanel and AppsFlyer stop receiving data.
- Stop tracking: iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Delete your data: FlyNest › You › Settings › “Delete my account”. This erases all data on your phone, asks Mixpanel to delete your profile, and gives the app a new random identifier. Your App Store subscription itself is managed by Apple: cancel it in iOS Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.
- Your rights: depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and California law), you can ask to access, correct, delete or port your data, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw consent. Write to cyndie@lesupercent.com. Since we don't know your name, we may ask for details (device, approximate install date) to find your data. EU residents may also complain to their data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
7. Retention
Data on your phone stays until you delete it or the app. Analytics and attribution data are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above, then deleted or anonymised. Subscription records are kept as long as required for accounting and legal obligations.
8. Children
FlyNest is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Health information
FlyNest offers wellbeing tools and information, not medical advice. If your fear of flying seriously affects your life, a professional trained in cognitive behavioural or exposure therapy can help.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
